Over twenty five years of experience in the photographic industry has allowed me to work with many different people in many different, sometimes challenging situations.
My early training was in scientific photography and I gained the distinction of being the first woman to qualify as a scientific photographer in New Zealand. My qualifications with the NZIMSI (New Zealand Institute of Medical and Scientific Illustration), were put to use at Massey University and later as a relief Medical Photographer at Palmerston North Public Hospital.
The photography requirements at Massey University were varied and challenging but after 16 years, I ventured into self employment in the photographic industry.
In the following years I discovered a penchant for wedding photography. The personal nature of a wedding day continues to hone the technical and ‘people’ skills I have gained during my career. I strive to make the photography experience relaxed and fun but the responsibility of capturing a ‘one off’ event is one I take very seriously.
News and special event photography appeals to my sense of adventure and armed with a University journalism qualification and three years writing experience with the Manawatu Standard, I also can provide a full journalism service – words and pictures.
My business is based in Palmerston North but I am happy to accept photography and writing assignments throughout the lower North Island and wider New Zealand.
